About Me
Hi, I’m Belén. My career has always been driven by a fascination with the human mind and a desire to help people thrive emotionally. That path led me into psychology, advanced therapeutic training, and years of experience supporting individuals through complex challenges.
Before becoming a full-time therapist, I also spent several seasons working at sea—crossing the Atlantic and Indian oceans and many seasons back to back seasons, living onboard, and experiencing the realities of yachting life firsthand. Those years showed me how rewarding yet demanding life on the water can be, and how essential mental wellbeing is for every crew member.
Bringing these two worlds together has become my purpose: to make professional mental-health support accessible to the sailing community and to offer practical, compassionate guidance grounded in real onboard experience.
Why I’m the Right Fit for SailingMatch
I combine clinical expertise with genuine, lived yachting experience. I understand the emotional, interpersonal, and practical challenges sailors face—whether on long passages, in close-quarters crew dynamics, or while navigating the pressures of the industry. My approach offers accessible, specialized mental-health support tailored specifically to maritime life, strengthening SailingMatch’s mission to prioritize wellbeing, connection, and safety for everyone on board.
