Captain New build 80ft Sailing Yacht
Start date: mid–end May 2026 · Base: Palma de Mallorca
The position
A brand new 80ft sailing yacht is looking for her first captain. Launching in Finland in June, the vessel will be based in Palma de Mallorca for the Mediterranean season, operating a combination of private and charter use. The first season is deliberately relaxed — an opportunity to settle the boat, establish the crew, and attend key events on the sailing calendar before the programme builds into a full commercial operation.
The owner's vision is clear: to develop this yacht into a well-run charter boat with a strong reputation. By winter 2027/28, the plan is to relocate to the Caribbean for the season. This is a long-term position for a captain who wants to build something, not just maintain it.

Badalona
Winter 2025/26
STP Shipyard, Palma. Winter works, refit and charter season preparation.
Winter 2027/28
Caribbean. Full charter programme.
What we are looking for?
Yachtmaster Ocean, commercially endorsed — minimum requirement, Master 200 a plus STCW & ENG1.
Strong sailing background essential ,this role is not suitable for motor yacht captains.
Candidates baed in Europe
Charter experience a strong advantage , familiarity with guests, brokers and commercial operations preferred
Proactive and self-motivated someone who takes initiative and runs a tight ship without being micro-managed
Solid mechanical knowledge required : the captain will be directly responsible for the mechanical upkeep of the vessel and must be comfortable managing onboard systems, troubleshooting. AEC 1 & 2 a strong advantage.
